6th Anniversary: “Capital Blitzer”
First and foremost, this era seemed more out of fear than anything else in this culture & history of the sport. An era when football was dominated by television and commercialism. The largest ever sponsorship deal in football rights broadcaster, and redevelopment of Champions League due to TV rights and the growing opportunity for commercial benefits. The Hillsborough tragedy had left questions about fan safety and furthermore, hooliganism.
These shots at the theater to reflect those soulless Cappie who distinguish football like an opera show, only a game that can be filled with mere roles and scenarios.
However, when push comes to shove, football will always be football, standing tall on one’s ground, and these things instead form the solid foundation that forms all of our views about football today.
